Ashley Allmon - 2nd Grade

I was born and spent the early years of my childhood in Springfield, IL. When I was in 3rd grade, my family and I moved to Joliet where I attended St. Mary Nativity. I was just thirteen when I first considered becoming a teacher. After graduating from Joliet Catholic Academy in 2004, I attended Joliet Junior College, where I received my Associates degree in 2006. I then transferred to Illinois State University where I earned my bachelor degree in elementary education in 2008. I have recently moved and currently reside in Shorewood, IL. I have been teaching 2nd grade at St. Rose since 2008

I really enjoy teaching at St. Rose. I like the open, welcoming environment of the School and the excellent teachers and staff. I also look forward to the ability to actively practice our Catholic faith with children on a daily basis.

I believe my teaching mission is to instill the love and wonder of learning in children. I love to see the excitement on their faces when the 'light goes on' and they understand a new concept. I also like to show them that work can also be fun and rewarding. I want them to be excited to come to school every single day!

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching movies, and traveling.
