I grew up in Lawrence, KS and earned my Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Kansas.
When my youngest child entered school full time I began working as a substitute teacher / LMT for Colorado Springs USD 11. After a family move to Illinois in 2002 I continued substituting for Grundy county schools.
In 2006 I began working on my Post Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation in Elementary Education through Western Governors University.
I began teaching at St. Rose in August 2008. The ability to work with the same students and families over their entire Prek-8 education has been a great draw as an educator. Seeing your students' growth in one school year is enjoyable, but getting to see them mature and develop over several years is the dream of educators. That is why I chose to teach at St. Rose.
In my free time I enjoy reading, gardening, biking and camping.
