Linda Vimpeny - 1st Grade
|
I am a 1991 graduate of Governors State University and hold a BA in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career at St. Rose School in 1992 teaching a combination of 5th and 6th graders. I continued teaching 5th grade until 2006 when I moved to the preschool building to teach 1st and 2nd graders. I currently teach first grade. I also coach 5th -8th graders for the annual IESA Speech Contest. In addition, I sponsor the St. Rose Drama Club, again 5th-8th graders who present one or more plays at the end of the school year.
I live in Kankakee with my soon to be retired train engineer husband, Harry and my dog Dottie Lu. My daughter and son-in-law live near Seattle, WA, while my son and daughter-in-law are in Kankakee. My husband and I enjoy four step-grandchildren.
In my spare time, I like to read and work in my garden. I also enjoy taking long walks and traveling on vacations.
I love teaching at St. Rose School. The staff and faculty are like family. I enjoy teaching the children and seeing their growth as they learn more and more new things.
I also enjoy that I have the opportunity to work with children of several grade levels.
